If you think you have a virus...
- Stop what you are doing immediately!
- Do NOT shut off the system.
- Do not save your work.
- Write down any information on the
screen.
- Write down where the virus might have
come from and when.
- Make a note of what you were doing
just before your virus hit.
- Alert others in you office of a
potential virus.
- Alert anyone you might have emailed
the virus to.

Good practices
to help prevent virus attacks...
- Use a reliable anti-virus program.
- Check
to see that your definition subscription has not expired.
- Update your antivirus
files often - perhaps two times a week.
- Turn off preview panes
in email programs.
- Use a firewall to
prevent people from breaking into your computer.
- Download and install
anti-spyware software.
- Do not accept any disks from people
you don't know.
- Do not down load files from sites you
are unfamiliar with.
- Scan any disks or files you do down
load before using them.
- Do not open any attachments from
people you do not know.
- Do not open attachments from chain
mail.
- Do not forward chain mail.
- Scan any floppy disks or other data
disks for viruses before restoring from a backup.
